A young boy had taken his first mission. He had looked for the easiest one as he was not reckless. He knew he was not strong enough to take on tough quests. He wanted to apply for the Chuunin Exams and needed to meet the requirements. To do so he took on the D-Rank mission of helping a farmer seed. With the growing population, more fields were needed as the ones at present were not enough to fill the stomachs of Sanringakure villagers. The boy was assigned with the task that would help the village and its people in whole. It was a wonder how a simple task can help hundreds with their living. After all, food was essential. The boy would have been more than happy serving the village, it would be his duty as a ninja. He had all this in mind as he smiled, making his way into the forest where a farmer awaited his help.

His name was Ozora, a young ninja who joined he village a month ago. He had a small backpack on his back and a fresh juicy apple in his hand, which he slowly munched on. He looked up at the night sky which held a shining moon and twinkling stars. The moon seemed to smile at him and the stars had been waving hello. He looked further above to see a massive amount of stars, covering the sky almost in whole. The boy spotted a shooting star zooming across the sky, leaving a trail as it went. The trail was truly beautiful, like a path of gold left behind. Ozora enjoyed the night sky view a lot but he knew that he had to keep moving. He bit into the apple as he walked forward towards his destination.

He wore a very fit buttoned white top with a very big collar and a very long loose green tie. It was followed by a big hood which was blue outside and green inside. It's sleeves were very long, reaching an inch beyond his wrist. It had a zip going across it which Ozora never used. The bottom of the outfit consisted of long black pair of jeans and a round brown pair of shoes. Ozora pulled up his hood to cover half of his ears as he shivered a little as it was very cold and foggy that time of the night. His cheeks and nose were glowing red due to the cold. He sneezed as he proceeded.

After an hour long walk, he made it to the small house in the forest where a farmer lived. As it was not midnight yet, the farmer would most likely have been awake. He gently walked up to the door and knocked softly, with a smile on his face.

Being a farmer was tiring work for most people of any age. But when you were pushing on into the late 40s it really started to hurt your lower back. Arashi had been a farmer all his life but more recently the seed sowing had been giving him trouble. Plowing the fields had taken a full two days by himself but the seeds still needed to be planted or there would quite obviously be no harvest for people to eat. Nor any cash in his pocket.

It was late evening when the anticipated knock came to the door. Arashi'd stayed in his farm wear. Thick jeans, torn around the bottom rims from years of wear were clad in mud and other more obscene substances, which could be identified from his strong stink. The shirt he wore was probably once smart, but now it looked like the colour had faded, and was worn underneath a padded vest with many many pockets. He opened the door, knowing the young ninja would be there.

"Good o' a boy like ya' to 'elp me lad." Arashi gave a nod, but squinted seeing the boys face wasn't accustomed to the cold, he'd expected a ninja to have a face mask or at least be used to the cold. "Lemme ge' me coat an' I'll be righ' with ya boy." It wasn't far to his coat, as it was hung right next to the door. A long dark brown raincoat with very deep pockets. He finished off his outdoor wear with a large straw hat and without looking to the boy walked, past him and towards the pre-plowed fields.

"Righ' I 'ope ya know wha' tah do, doncha? The fields a'ready plowed so just put the seeds in so they grow." He hopped over the fence to the field, immediately regretting it as his back gave a major ache. "Seeds're... Over there..." He muttered through gritted teeth at his back pain, gesturing slightly to two very heavy looking bags full of seeds for the crop. "Ge' to it."

Although Ozora had been puzzled in this man's form of speech, he knew it was somewhat of a warm welcome as he picked up one bag of the seeds with much effort and stepped on the plowed grounds. He looked back at the old man, it must have been such hard work for the old man, the ground had been just plowed to an enormous extent. He was awestruck as he felt his jaw on his knees. He lowered the bag and got seeding. He poured them to the plowed ground and gently pressed them with his hands, burying them in the soil. "Am I doing it right?" He asked as he kept burying the seeds. The sand buried them all in with very less effort, much easier than what Ozora had in mind.

He looked at the seeds and up in the sky and thought to himself, "There are like two seeds for each star up there!" He wondered how he would bury them but he was confident he could do it. Therefore he kept burying them, amazed by the number. He would begin sweating from his head despite the coldness. The numbers were just too many. He buried them in as he kept telling himself that the efforts will pay. He was helping in feeding an entire village with this mission. He grinned to himself, getting more and more tired as he buried the seeds.

He had been told in the mission briefing that by the next season the seeds would feed the village in whole. After all,t he village receives just enough rainfall and the climate is just perfect for trees to grow. He had all sorts of thoughts in his mind as he kept working. He wondered if he had been doing well and from his heart knew that his parents would be very proud of him by the end of the mission. "If only they were here," He added in his mind, a sudden feeling of sadness noted. He turned to the farmer behind him as he was nearly finished with the bag, "Well? How am I doing?"

"Decent for ya firs' try lad." Arashi called back to the young boy, as he buried the seed himself a rough inch into the soil. "Ya need tah bury 'em roughly three times 'ow thick they are. 'An remember tah space 'em so's ya don't waste seeds." He instructed, flicking a handful of seeds in front of him so they landed suitable spaced out, pushing them down into the ground with his fingers and then covering over them with a small amount of soil. Growling a little as his back flared up again.

"So lad, ya'r interested in farmin' or'd someone else send'ya to coom 'elp me an the other farmurs out 'ere?" He asked, trying to make casual conversation rather awkwardly. He hadn't had much company when farming since the small amount of farmers tended to space themselves out between the fields.

"An ya'r right with the cold 'ere lad? Ya'r face's gone all sore looken." He nodded over to the boy as he acknowledged him, pressing another seed into the ground, he hadn't noticed just how cold the night was till the clouds of breath started forming around his mouth, making is gruff voice even more sore.

"A little space," Ozora repeated the man's words, "Alright!" He blew on the seeds and used his hands to spread them away, scattering them. He was soon done and he had gone for the next bag. "No sir, I have a great jacket, I'm not feeling too cold." He pulled up his hood and picked up the bag. He began doing the same with the second bag, this time more slowly. Placing them on the ground and scattering the with his blowing. He would then use his hands to bury them in sand.

"I'd have second thoughts, I'm getting tired already," He replied to the man, "If someone requests it as a mission I would be more than happy to serve." He said as he continued with the seeding, leaving a space and burying them in sand as instructed. He would then take a deep breath and show signs of exhaustion as he observed the buried seeds. He wondered if he was like the seeds. Yet a small seed in need of support but one day will be a huge tree sprouting from the ground to sky leaving a mark on the world.

"Well," He said as he continued, "How about now, am I doing fine?" He asked the man to make sure he was not spoiling the seeds for if he had done that he would disappoint the farmer and be a disgrace to his village. He stretched and waited for a reply.

Arashi gave a nod as the boy began sowing the seeds rather professionally. though he tried to conceal his satisfaction at the boys work by continuing his own seed sowing. Hopefully his eyes were hidden as the boy put his hood up as Arashi rolled his eyes, young people and wearing their hoods up, he didn't understand it. Arashi failed to not the fact the hood would defend the boy from the cold breezes of the chilled night-time air.

he gave a slight chuckle, so the boy wasn't interested in farming at all. Young men never really wanted to farm, he himself had wanted to be a manly samurai when he was younger and travel the world. But farming was a much more fulfilling duty, not only did he get to be the reason everyone in his community stayed alive, but also he got paid for it. He tried to subdue a huge ton of laughter failing miserably.

"AHAHAHAHA! Gettin' tired a'ready boy? I'm scared for our islands safety if ya'r wha' them young ninja today 'ave to offer." He buried a few more seeds at impressive speed to try and show off, his back may have pained him but he wasn't close to being tired. "I guess this ol' farmer's go' a few years lef' af'er all if he can outdo one-a dem young ninja boys. He chuckled loudly a little more before answering the boys question. Ahahaha... Nah lad, yur doin' fine, doin' fine." He continued sowing his own seeds, with a slight extra spring in his step.

Ozora was as confused as ever as the farmer continued with his odd manner of speech. He did not ask any questions as he slowly buried the seeds using the method he had used to bury the end of the first bag. He kept burying the seeds for a long time, before he replied to the farmer who laughed unstoppably, "Sir, with all due respect my body was not build for farming," He said, kidding or not he sounded serious enough, "I deeply respect your work but doing this is really breaking my back," He burst, "Its amazing a man like you can do all this yourself." He said in admiration.

He really thought that it was somewhat of a wonder a man his age could do the work. It had been harder than he had thought when he began working. His back was giving away as were his hands. He struggled to bury the last handful of seeds, scattering them with his blowing whilst burying them. He looked at the seeds and realized that each ninja was a seed like this, destined to be huge trees, landmarks of Earth. Legends of heroes started with weak individuals after all. Most legends ended in these seeds growing to be enormous trees, in the case, weak individuals at first who save the world later on with great power. He looked at the seeds flow down from his hands like grain, reminding him of all these legends and the concept of life.

He snapped out of the mindset originally owned by his father. He soon buried a quarter of the seeds in the ground and said, "Sorry for the hurry, am I a disappointment?" He asked, not thinking much of his work. He waited for an answer patiently as he added, "Do you want me to bury the whole bag?"

Arashi abruptly stopped laughing as the boy responded to his joke in a rather formal manner, a little bit of a killjoy then. he continued on with his own work silently and left the boy to his own until he was asked a question. "I wan'cha to finish the field boy, that ain't disposable confeti ya'r dealin with, i's yur villages food and mah wages. You gohta be careful."

Arashi stood up straight, finishing another line of the field, making incredibly loud cracking noises as he back straightened. he whipped the cold sweat off his brow and looked back at his work before turning to the boy again. "Ya gotta realize lad, whatchu do will go'n tah affect everyone else in tah worl' in some way. Mah food feeds tah village, and tah village does who knows wha' affectin who knows wha' else. Gotta be careful with the things ya'r doin, keep ya mind on 'em" He noted, observing the boy had been pretty absent minded as he'd worked.

Arashi bent his back down again, giving a little louder "Oof!" sound as he crouched to plant more seeds, they'd be done with this field at the rate they were going, but if the seeds weren't sown properly who knows how many wouldn't grow. Maybe they should have sent for a whole team and done it in the day so they could see the work. Hopefully the boy would do well enough anyway.

"Sorry," Ozora said, "I actually did realize how this work can help the world," He kept seeding the field as he continued, ""I guess I was just getting tired, don't mind the complains." He stopped, getting back to work. All he did was seeding that time, he kept thinking about his contribution as he kept seeding the field like how he was instructed, keeping the seeds spaced and making sure each one of them is buries well in the soil. He kept repeating the process during the entire duration as he finally moved on to the next half of the field.

He then looked at the old man, now getting tired, "Sit down sir," He said, "I will do the work for you," He worked on the seeding as he continued, "You shouldn't stress yourself on this," He paused for a while as he had some trouble burying a specific seed, "I'll do my best to impress you here," He raised his voice, looking at the farmer, "I will make my village proud!" He exclaimed, as he gave a cheerful smile and a thumbs up sign.

He acted like he nothing was said as he went back to seeding, with a little more momentum in him.
