Killer Instinct: Beauty and the Beast [Nomi vs Lex]

Post by Anomily on Wed 13 Apr 2011, 4:11 pm

Chobake

”Battle Area”:
The cave area is a large repeating circle with no exit. The only light comes from openings in the ceiling, which are inescapable for roleplay purposes.

Today was the turning point in Chobake’s existence… or rather, his nonexistence. He was a being born in a harsh, dying world with only one way out. He was taught to believe that he lived in a state of nothingness, and that the single path to reality was to kill one of his own: A Demon of Creed. Each demon’s life was the same—they trained their entire life to fight and kill. It all came down to here and now; a fight to the death.

Chobake strode across a rocky terrain, avoiding the huge shallow puddles within the cave. The puddles were just as abundant as level ground, which Chobake disliked. He was aligned to earth strongly, and felt safe around it; he felt the some comfort from fire as well—hence his specialty with explosions. Everything else, Chobake averted.

His footsteps made little sound without any footwear. In fact, Chobake wore little to nothing for his entire life. He had nothing private to hide, and his fur provided more than enough cover from the environment, leaving no point to live with clothing. The only thing on his person was a utility strap that went diagonally around his torso. It held most of his usual equipment in easy-to-access compartments, while the rest was packed in a large brown duffel bag attached to the bottom of the strap.

It seemed like he had been searching for his opponent for hours, even though it couldn’t have possibly been longer than fifteen minutes. He had no success so far; hadn’t even heard a sound apart from the occasional tumble of rocks caused by his own feet. Yet, he had been intent on an sound or sight out of the ordinary. In such an empty cave, it would be nearly impossible to sneak around. There wasn’t even much to hide behind, and Chobake made sure to check behind every rock and in every niche. His opponent would not get within 50 meters without being noticed.

Though the point was to just find the opponent, not sneak up on them. Chobake had given up on that antic after the first ten minutes. He was more of an ostentatious, frontal assault type in a fight. He planned to use raw power to blow through any strategy posed against him. It was how he rolled.

A dark skinned girl shivered as she sat on one of the low rocks that protruded from the ground. Here she was, stuck in some random cave that she knew nothing about with barely any light, which came from the surface of such a gigantic cave. She had fallen asleep in her bed last time she checked, in her nightgown no less, but she was here in her traditional shinobi garbs, one of dark purple color that she was sure was packed in one of her drawers at home. She was also surrounded by two figures, but they were just as cold as this cave and served no heat for her to mooch off of. They were her loyal puppets, despite their lack of emotion in their eyes that matched the cave perfectly, they showed no resistance to her whim, no objection to her call. There were but so many things puppets could do for her however, like console her to figuring out what was going on. She was however much more content with the thought of them there than anything. Being trained in such masterful arts, her puppets made her feel safe in unknown places, a piece of known territory that she had taken with her no matter where she would go.

She was not shivering from the cold air that was passing her by; that was what the ninja garbs were actually for, actively keeping her warm from the cave's frigid air. No, it was from her nerves. She wasn't sure if she was about to have a panic attack or not, but she knew ninjas were supposed to be on the ready for anything, and tried her best to take the thoughts away. But how could she be ready for this? It took her an entire hour for her to realize this was not a dream, and despite the 'cool' thought that she was in a realistic dream, the perception of dream went away, and only the realism was left. She would continue shivering, lost in her own mind as she looked at the rocky ground below her. Upon hearing a light step however, she would stop shivering and slowly cast her face up to look at the tall and furry figure that stood before her. Her brilliant blue eyes were all the creature would see, a pleading look about them as if he was the answer to bringing her back home. 'Oh cave monster, maybe he can bring me back home.' she would think. But her fingers that were wrapped around herself were now dancing a bit by her sides, positioning them to move the puppets that were close to her at a moment's notice.

Re: Killer Instinct: Beauty and the Beast [Nomi vs Lex]

The beast's coal black eyes landed on several dark figures of sorts 50 or so meters away from his current position. He recognized the outer two as puppets, as he had dedicated himself to studying all styles of shinobi arts. Thus, he focused on the seated girl in between, who was perched on stone jutting out of what would be level ground. She was dark in many ways; it could of course be the cave's lack of light shrouding her, but Chobake's eyes had long past adjusted to it. Her skin was dark, however, darker than any normal human's that he had seen. It was an oddity and a rarity--not saying that he was not one himself to a more copious extent. Of course, there was her apparel; she wore purplish clothing that covered most of her body from the chilly atmosphere of the caverns. It was the most noticeable part about her from this distance. Then lastly, there was her ebon hair which displayed a sense of lifelessness without the guide of wind blowing it around. Overall, her appearance was adumbral to Chobake.

She didn't notice his current position from so far back, since she was so focused on the ground in front of her. Taking advantage of this, Chobake would creep along the side of the cave, dancing in and out of the edges of her vision. He couldn't tell exactly where her vision began and where it ended, but he had a pretty good idea. It was twenty meters in reserve from the distracted female that Chobake decided to attack. One who was too fixated on their own regard would not be alert enough to notice a clandestine act against them very well. Chobake would be literally silent as he slowly snapped off a spherical metal object from his utility strap, deposited a petit amount of chakra into the internal mechanism, and then tossed it accurately at the girl. What human would have the ears to detect the subtle disturbance of wind as the grenade flew directly into their chest? No conventional one. Chobake had set the timer on the grenade so that it would detonate itself a mere two feet away from the female, which would kill her in less than a second if she did not counteract it. Chobake hoped his freedom was going to arrive ere long.

[OOC: I stated that you wouldn't get within 50 meters of me without being noticed, considering I was specifically looking for you. Since that was the case, I'd sneak up to you instead, thus you wouldn't hear me, thus allowing me to sneak attack you :3]
Spoiler:
Name: Explosive Flak Bomb
Appearance: The explosive flak bomb is a metallic metal sphere, studded with sharp spikes. It is a dull dark gray color all around, and about 4 inches in diameter.
Rank: C
Range: 10 meters
Description: The flak bomb is a metal sphere with a chakra-sensitive explosive contained inside it. It is used by giving a very small amount of chakra to it, and then quickly throwing it. The duration before the bomb explodes can be up to 7 seconds, depending on the user's preference. Once it explodes, a large ball of fire will envelop the area around it, and send the sharp metal spikes flying outwards at high speed, with good piercing qualities.
Origin: The bombs were hand made by Chobake, during one of his experimental phases. He started with the blueprint of a sphere like bomb, and later came up with the metal spike projectiles, which increased the lethality of the bomb. The simple addition made it much more effective to use.

The dark skinned girl would give a light sigh as she continued looking at the ground beneath her, still in thought. But it would be the not so silent puppet that would catch the figure that was approaching her, not herself. With a disturbing random cackle, the two puppets would begin slapping their mouths open and closed rather rapidly, creating a noise that resonated around the immediate area of the cave. She had done this periodically, in order to see if anything was out of the ordinary while she was mostly still in shock about where she was. The chattering noise began to bounce off of the walls, and in moments, returned back to her.

Some of the sound returned back towards her before most of it eventually returned, telling her that something had changed. This was something most puppeteers in her clan used to locate ninjas who were sneaking around in the area. The size and distance of something could be find out in this manner, a manner that would prove to be useful for many battles she was sure. Her eyes would only flicker up from the ground to notice something a good distance away from her was beginning to reach towards its chest and then chuck it towards her. Her fingers would immediately dance along her sides, now causing the two sitting figures to jump up from their positions next to her and then hop their way in front of her.

One of them lifted a hand before a long blade would shoot out of its palm and towards the sphere like object, more than likely causing it to explode on contact or simply stop it's trajectory and let it hit the ground with a thud. The explosion however would cause the spikes to fly towards the two puppets and teenage girl, and this was where the female puppet came in. As the first one moved back and went in front of the girl, the second one would cross it's arms over itself. Different compartments began to slide away from its forearms and wrists before a stack of small metal plates began to spring out of these holes. The stack of metal panels would quickly slide from their top position, creating a form of miniature shield after the panels made their complete travel around the puppets forearms and wrists. These shields blocked any spikes coming their way as the girl herself peeked through the two puppets through their chest compartment, attempting to see what is going on while still keeping herself safe. Once the commotion ended, the girl moved her fingers again to cause the puppets to step aside, now giving a sort of angry look towards the creature. "So you were going to kill me huh? Suits you well I guess, being a cave monster and all." she would say before twitching her fingers again, making the puppets do the dark cackling noise once again while she continued to glare at the thing in front of her with those piercing blue eyes.

Puppets:
Name: Stock A: Ace
Rank: C
Description: A dark brown puppet with blue eyes and short black crew cut hair that is usually found in dark blue apparel that usually covers up most of its compartments. It stands at 5'9 and is a male base.
Devices: A 8 inch blade that retracts into the palm of the puppet. There are three blades in each arm, and are designed to shoot out when triggered. All limbs can be detached purposefully in order to attack the opponent in separate sequences.
Weapons:

On the Feet
Name: Cepherus
Appearance: Dark and faint grey metal footwear that has two different blades protruding from the each side of the shoe. The front of it is pointed as a sharp blade as well.
Rank: C
Range: Close
Special Abilities: None
Descriptions: The Cepherus is basically metal footwear with blades crafted on the side of them, making it quite the task to dodge anyone person who decides to kick with this type of weapon in use.
Origin: Leroy Prailius was an excellent Areno Kitsune style master, and as so, figured he was showing too much mercy to his opponents by leaving them knocked unconscious after battle. So he crafted this footwear and began to heavily cut the opponents with the several blades that protrude from his craft. He felt that if no one was able to dodge his feet with regular footwear, then there was no way anyone was going to fare against his skills with his custom crafty work on hand. He made two versions, but this version is meant for the other Prailius who first wish to get used to the concept of using such a unique weapon.
Primary Use: Offensive
Origin: The Pryce Clan has made this puppet as a stock for all clan members just starting to master the specialty of Puppetry. Designed to be lightweight to attack the opposition, it barely has many weapons and devices put on it, made to look and be bare so it can reach the opponent efficiently and rapidly. It is usually made to perform taijutsu on the battlefield.

Name: Stock B: Belle
Rank: C
Description: A dark brown puppet with blue eyes and medium length black hair that is usually found in dark red apparel that usually covers up most of its compartments. It stands at 5'9 and is a female base.
Devices: Compartments set on the forearm, forelegs, wrists, ankles, chest and back that are revealed when the surface plates of said area slide back. A second surface area is then pushed from the inside of the arm to reveal a protective shield named the Verillion as well as closes the gap from the open compartment.
Weapons:

In the forearms, forelegs, wrists, ankles chest and back
Name: Verillion
Appearance: An armband that has a stack of numerous metal plates on each other.
Rank: C-B
Range: Close
Special Abilities: This shield is a last ditch effort that tries to protect the user from a barrage of attacks. The stack of metal panels can slide in a circular pattern that becomes 1 foot and a 6 inch diameter all around. there is a small setting on the edge of the stacked panels where the transparent dome of the Duplex sits, so when the stack of metal panels slide out in a circular motion, the Duplex sits perfectly in the middle of the circle and is able to flash at the opponent, whether it be chakra induced or not. The difference in rank is set by the type of metal used. At C Rank, the Verillion is created with the use of regular metal, but at B rank, the Verillion is made up of Prentium alloy.
Descriptions: The Verillion is a defense weapon meant to block swift attacks that the user wielding the Prentice feels cannot catch. Chakra is not needed for this shield, and nothing can truthfully be changed if chakra is induced into it.
Origin: The Verillion can only be unlocked from the Prailius clan's royal scroll. These scrolls are much rarer than the common set, and are only given to those of the royal branch. The reason the Verillion was created was to defend against very quick attacks made by opponents that the other shields would not be ideal to be used for.

Primary Use: Defensive
Origin: The Pryce Clan has made this puppet as a stock for all clan members just starting to master the specialty of Puppetry. Designed to defend against the opposition, it stocks several different shields that can conveniently take little effort to come out and block several different areas of the puppet. It is still ideal for taijutsu maneuvers, due to the alloy being lightweight that makes up the shields.

Re: Killer Instinct: Beauty and the Beast [Nomi vs Lex]

Post by Anomily on Wed 20 Apr 2011, 11:19 pm

Chobake had already judged the girl upon sight: She was lower than him, unprepared, unfit for reality. She didn’t value her own life if she wasn’t on the lookout. She didn’t know what was going on if she was trying to start a conversation with her enemy. From sight, Chobake had hated the girl, because she was now the only thing keeping him from having something ‘real’ for once. He wanted her dead and nothing less. Thus, when she tried to speak to him, he howled back at her and interrupted her before she could finish. Rage, sadness, hate, and a sign of things to come were all mingled within the beastly roar. And it was a sound louder than any normal human could produce with their voice.

In haste, Chobake unsnapped another flak bomb off of his utility strap, while pulling 5 kunai with explosive tags out. His monstrous furry hands easily encompassed the petit blades, and threw them with a powerful force at the blue-clad puppet and the girl in between. Then, he lobbed the spherical bomb into the air; he had years of experience— aiming with tosses and throws—that he almost never missed any target. And this time, the dark girl was his target dead-on. But otherwise, the fur-coated monster would keep his distance. Out of his pouch came a metal pike, and into the earthen cave floor it went with a loud crack. It was obviously made of metal, but other than that, there was nothing significant about it. When finished, pounding it into the floor, Chobake would hop back a dozen more meters and wait for the next move.

Re: Killer Instinct: Beauty and the Beast [Nomi vs Lex]

The dark skinned girl was quickly on the move, wasting no time as it all kicked in. The movements of her enemy reminded her a lot of the Prailius. Stupid, emotional, and with haste; no grace about him as he figured that fighting was the only solution to their problem, not even trying to exercise other possibilities for a mere moment. Yes, straightforward and brash just like them, and just as unwitty. The girl now began to grin darkly as her fingers began to move rapidly. Of course this stupid beast wouldn't have that much intellect to converse and pose with any critical thinking skills; what was she thinking, trying to talk to it? The thought made her giggle a bit as the beast began to take out five explosive tagged kunai, unknowest to her that they were tagged however from that distance and with Belle still in front of her. But she was sure Ace was all that was needed to take care of the situation. After all, the beast attacked her first, she was in the right, wasn't she?

"Let's have some fun!" she shouted excitedly as the now apparent several kunai in the blue clad puppet's hand were tossed towards the oncoming five tags. The red clad puppet standing somewhat in front of Evelyn also pulled out three kunai from one of her compartments and simply waited. The initial explosion of one or two of the explosive kunai would cause the other explosive tags to veer slightly, and any extra kunai that the blue clad puppet had tossed would not hit its mark due to the explosion. Of course, that was to say there were any; Evelyn was simply taking a chance, but most likely just a precautionary step anyway. Most fighters used explosive tags and smoke bombs during a scuffle, it wasn't uncommon enough to put as a back burner for a possibility of an attack.

Just as she had thought, three explosions went off due to the first puppet's kunai, veering off the rest but still coming in Evelyn's general direction. The red clad puppet's kunai were next to fly into the air before they would hit the remaining two explosive tags, causing them to detonate and go off. During that moment when the smoke came up, the girl would produce three intangible clones, one of each figure on her side of the cave. Evelyn took no time in taking her shoes off and then tossing them under the intangible clone. Strings were attached to these shoes, puppet strings, strings she would need to concentrate on at least with minimal effort if she wanted to give the illusion of making her copied self seem real. The smoke seemed to be clearing slightly, but with a quick unraveling of a scroll, the girl would cause another light puff of smoke to appear as she quickly put on a new pair of shoes. Her work usually came from the throwing of sound around, so she had to utilize it in a manner that she believed would help. With a slip of the scroll back into her pocket, the teenage dark skinned girl began to notice the smoke now clearing. The furred creature was more than a dozen meters away now. And it was where the creature would stay, a few meters apart from her and her puppets. The clones however began to slowly walk forward as the three real figures dropped onto their stomach on the cold cave floor. As the clones began walking, Evelyn began to move her fingers slowly to make the pair of shoes lift and then move forward seamlessly to give the impression of it actually being on the clone's feet, slapping onto the hard stone floor beneath them as a sneer came along Evelyn clone's face, walking towards the beast in a slow manner as the real three figures lied in wait low on their stomachs.

Ninjutsu:
Name: Bunshin no Jutsu
Rank: E
Type: Ninjutsu
Range:N/A
Element: N/A
Description: This technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).

Name: Generic Sealing Technique
Rank: E - D
Type: Fuuinjutsu
Element: -
Range: Close
Description: This technique is a standard ninja skill which allows a ninja to summon an assortment of items or weapons that have been stored using Fūinjutsu, typically they are stored within scrolls. When needed, the owner will activate the seals releasing their item or weapon of choice. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons. The items themselves are unaffected by time.

Puppets can have these hidden inside various compartments as a means of increasing their own killing potential as well as hiding useful weapons from the opponent's sight. Interestingly, objects with seals on them can be sealed in other seals, which expands the number of potential tricks a shinobi can use.
