Ryokugakure OOC Area

This is not a subforum built for RPing. Any posing here will be done OOC. This is a place where any needed info regarding Ryokugakure will be posted in order to ensure that all ninja from this village can have the info that they want. This area will be used for sign ups, updates that need to be spread, village news, among other things. Check here often for things you need to know. Treat this like a bulletin board holding all of the announcements that you might need to know, allowing you, as a member of the Ryokugakure community, to become an active individual in what is going on IC.

Ryokugakure no Sato

This is the ninja village within the Land of Darkness. The village itself it buried under the ground, held by numerous earthen pillars strengthened to resist motion such as earthquakes. The village is all built in a very industrial fashion with metal buildings, large factories, huge smoke stacks, and an ever present night life which puts a large section of the village in a constant state of partying. With neon lights flashing through differing sections of the village, violence is not at all unheard of, and gangs are easily formed, passing around illegal substances. However everything is somehow able to be kept in a state of slight organization do to the strict and needed punishment system that rules over the village laws. The village itself it now compact, and is spread out through the island, and even a little into the ocean outside of the island. The village is spread this way through a series of tunnels that rise to the surface at random intervals, hidden by natural geography allowing entrance of certain ninja into the village. These entrances are, most of the time not always, guarded by powerful outposts. Vents at the "ceiling" of the underground village cause huge amounts of heat, smoke, smog, and dense haze to dump out onto the land above, giving it a blackened look, coating everything in a layer of grime, and making it look dirty as well as reducing air quality and visibility.

Minami Forest

Once a beautiful, sun fed forest filled with tall beautiful trees, the Minami Forest is now corrupted with smoke, and thick haze from the spouting smoke vents that plague the surface of the island, causing a ever present thick smog to filtrate through the huge trees. Because of this, the trees have become withered, thin, and dead. Many have fallen, causing others to fall, leaving the entire forest in a state of disarray. In a way to warn entering individuals, there are talismans hanging from some of the trees made from twigs and wire that look like hanging people.

Nishi Forest

The trees of the Nishi Forest make up a huge percent of the island's surface. Covering nearly fifty percent of the islands grounds, the trees of the Nishi Forest are not quite as large as the trees within the Minami Forest, however there are more, and they are more tightly packed. With many still having fallen, and entire areas killed or destroyed from being put through war, the Forest is packed with vents that filter the smoke, smog, and sticky haze from the industrial village underneath, causing it to be the dirtiest part of the island. The air quality in this area is extremely low, and only ninja used to seeing through the thick fog are conditioned and strong enough to do so. This is similar to the Kirigakure shinobi's ability to see through the thick mist of the village.

Ko Nagori Kuudou

Ko Nagori Kuudou, once known as Kuchisaki Chouseki, or the Mouth of Tides to old residents of Mori no Shima, is all that is left of the once famed cave within Sanringakure. Water has spilled through the cracks in the cave, and parts of the cave have fallen in to open it up to the sunlight. Dangerous animals lurk around this area, as well as heavy amounts of smog.

Aoi Kami Fujin - Outpost

This is Ryokugakure's first line of defense. This outpost is on the surface lands, guarding the river entrance into the Land of Darkness. This is filled with ninja that are directed to perform background checks on entering individuals, and become the first wave of defensive attack if needed. This outpost is constructed with metal buildings and has high rising buildings, or lookout towers, that allow shinobi to see far out into the ocean to see oncoming vessels, and attacks.

Kuro Tokai

A part of the village that spreads out from the underground section into the water, creating an expansive extension of tunnels and room that move into the water, each tunnel snaking through the jagged rocks that make sailing over those waters impossible. These tunnels and rooms can be used as an outpost by shinobi to make attacks from under the water if needed to protect Ryokugakure. These tunnels are made with earthen walls, surrounded by another protective layer of dense metal in order to ensure stability from currents, and water pressure, as well as anything added through enemy manipulation. These tunnels snake around the entirety of the island, going as far as half a mile into the ocean in some places. These tunnels are built with emergency gates that can close in order to shut off water flow if the walls were broken in the event of some unlikely force, rendering the resulting water flow harmless. These water flood gates are able to create an air tight seal, meaning no water can push through once a gate has closed.
